Which treatment options may be considered?
Direct composite and incisal edges
Composite is shaped directly on the tooth to change its form or length. Selected cases may be completed in one visit. Staining, wear or fractures may require maintenance or repair.
Indirect composite veneers
Designed using digital records and made in a laboratory before try-in and placement. The number of visits depends on the clinical plan.
Ceramic veneers
Options include lithium disilicate. Ceramic can offer good color stability, but suitability and any enamel preparation depend on the teeth and bite.
Other possible steps
Whitening, gum contouring, orthodontics or rehabilitation may precede or accompany cosmetic treatment. Not every patient needs veneers.
