This type of prosthesis is ideal for people who have lost all or most of their teeth, either in the upper or lower arch.<\/p>\n

Types of Overdentures<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are different types of overdentures, depending on the number of implants and the location of the prosthesis:<\/p>\n

1. Overdenture on 2 Implants:<\/h2>\n

Generally used in the lower arch. It is an affordable and effective option that improves denture stability without requiring a large number of implants.<\/p>\n

2. Overdenture on 4 Implants:<\/h2>\n

Used in the upper or lower arch, it offers greater stability and support. This type is recommended for patients who need stronger retention due to bone loss.<\/p>\n

3. Bar-Retained Overdenture:<\/h2>\n

Instead of attaching directly to the implants, the prosthesis is fixed onto a bar that connects the implants, providing even firmer retention. It is more complex in terms of hygiene but offers excellent stability.<\/p>\n

4. Overdenture with Locator System:<\/h2>\n

This system uses a male-female attachment mechanism that allows the prosthesis to hold firmly onto the implants while still being easy to remove for cleaning.<\/p>\n
